There were always two birds watching me when I swam: a hummingbird and a northern mockingbird. I don’t know why, but they made me wonder how could they live in the 100+ degrees? I wouldn’t be outside if I was not in the pool. Where do they find food? Our bird baths were dried, and there was no feeder! Their presence has caused my interest in birds.
We now have two bird baths with water! Two feeders for regular birds and one for hummingbirds.
There are a variety of birds. I recognize some, and some are unknown to me. The ones that I see in our yard are below. They bath, drink, eat, fight, sing, come and go provide hours of entertaining to me. Some times there are 10 to 15 birds of various types. Now, I understand the pleasure of watching birds.
Hummingbird | Northern Mockingbird |
American Robin | Gold Finch |
House Finch | |
Say’s Phoebe | White-crowned Sparrow |
Rock Wren | |
Sparrow | Sparrow? |
I don’t really like doves at the feeder because they eat a lot and do not share with little birds! | Mourning Dove (Little Chicken) They stay mostly on the ground! |
Crow We don’t see them often, now that we cut down the corner tree! | Hawk Rarely see the bird, but it appeared some times. |
